Gerrymandering/redistricting, a call for reform, will be the topic at the November 16 public town hall sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Alpena County and Alpena Lifelong Learners (ALL). Donna Hornberger, Michigan LWV board member, will present information on redistricting. The public is encouraged to attend this important presentation. There is no charge.

Redistricting is an important current issue because of recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions. Gerrymandering/redistricting changes are urged by some in Michigan, where district voting lines are drawn by whichever party is in power. For more information, go to

ACC, Center 106 (across from Granum Theatre) "Early Educators in Alpena". In honor of Women's History Month, LWV and Delta Kappa Gamma will present this program which is open to the community. Marlo Broad, Alpena Library Special Collections, will speak on Early Educators in Alpena. Jane Melville will tell us about teaching at Bolton School and Midge Connon will give the History of one-room schools in the US. Julie Kowalski and Bev Bodem will talk about attending a one-room school. Come early and buy your lunch in the Lumberjack Cafe and bring it to C-106.
