Alpena County Library GERRYMANDERING/REDISTRICTING. GERRYMANDERING/REDISTRICTING TO BE LWV TOPIC

Gerrymandering/redistricting, a call for reform, will be the topic at the November 16 public town hall sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Alpena County and Alpena Lifelong Learners (ALL). Donna Hornberger, Michigan LWV board member, will present information on redistricting. The public is encouraged to attend this important presentation. There is no charge.

Redistricting is an important current issue because of recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions. Gerrymandering/redistricting changes are urged by some in Michigan, where district voting lines are drawn by whichever party is in power. For more information, go to lwvmi.org/issues/redistricting.
